2。5 ⭐️The one where everybody “laughs and laughs”。 I swear if I had to read that phrase one more time。So Thorne does banter really well， which is the reason I’m rating this so highly， for the most part （there were definitely some cringey moments and infantilizing that was just gross but I am choosing to ignore that that happened）。 The problem is that the rest of the story always suffers bad （The Hating Game is one of my favorite books but I’ve DNFd every other Sally Thorne book I’ve tried）。Rosie 2。5 ⭐️The one where everybody “laughs and laughs”。 I swear if I had to read that phrase one more time。So Thorne does banter really well， which is the reason I’m rating this so highly， for the most part （there were definitely some cringey moments and infantilizing that was just gross but I am choosing to ignore that that happened）。 The problem is that the rest of the story always suffers bad （The Hating Game is one of my favorite books but I’ve DNFd every other Sally Thorne book I’ve tried）。Rosie spent the ENTIRE story comparing herself to her sister and talking poorly about herself， it was so unnecessary。 And then the only reason Rosie can even comprehend Leo is talking to her is because Bree left her alone， because “no one evens looks at me if Bree is in the room”。 I get that we’re all self-conscious so it should be represented when appropriate， but the ending isn’t even her getting over that， it’s just Bree putting her own makeup on Rosie and saying she’s pretty now because she spent 3 hours in a float tank。 Ok。I just want The Hating Game again， ok？ 。。。more
